Rokko & Noise Chan

Nubuwo teamed up with Noise Channel to give the listeners a preview of the Rokko Chan Arrange album.  The album is still not yet complete, but TrueStar had a full hour of both original, chiptune, and non-chiptune arrangements to share with the listeners.

The full album will be available as one of the incentives for the upcoming Nubuwo  Kickstarter projects in a few weeks.  It will be available to the public as ‘pay what you want’ on Bandcamp on July 4th.

This album isn’t released (or even complete) yet, so there is currently no archive for this episode.

The artwork for this listening party is brought to you by Slider!  Be sure to check out her Deviantart page; she does commissions!  You can also play Rokko Chan for free at this website.

Rokko Chan

Noise Channel and Nubuwo are happy to bring you the Rokko Chan Arrange Listening Party!  Here is details about the album from the Nubuwo website.:

“Nubuwo has partnered with independent developer King Soukutu on the publication of Rokko Chan Soundtracks. The designers of The Big Adventure of Owata’s Life and Rokko Chan will be overseeing the project, together with the organizers of music compilations Hydorah Arranged Tracks and Splatterhouse: Butchered by Various Artists.

The music collection is scheduled to include the Famicom-inspired score to browser-based Flash game Rokko Chan, written using PxTone Collage software and composed by Hokkaido-based musician Asagen. New chip music remixes by various artists are also planned for the release, in addition to arrangements in miscellaneous genres.

Rokko Chan Soundtracks is due out on Bandcamp on July 4 and will be available in your file format of choice for “name your price,” with all proceeds going to the game developer. Participating arrangers will be announced soon.”

The listening party will take place on May 31st during Noise Channel’s regularly scheduled time.  Keep in mind that this show will not be archived; if you miss the live show you’ll have to wait until the album’s release in July!  We hope to see you there!

Zef drops by Noise Channel with his brand new Blackout album.  To get everyone in the mood for high energy dancing, TrueStar starts off the show with music from his now year old Ground Zero album.  Afterwards, everyone enjoys Blackout and a couple of still unreleased tracks from both Zef and..Zefimal Cannon!

Unfortunately, the Zefimal Cannon track is not available on the archive.  You can expect to hear more from them this summer!

Blackout is available now on Bandcamp.  For the first two days all money made from Blackout will be donated to Johan for further development of LSDJ.  Afterwards, it will be donated to the humanitarian efforts of Kiva.org.  Kiva is a non-profit organization that allows people to lend money to small business owners and farmers who don’t have access to the bank systems like we’re used to.  The loans help them run their business and support their families.  They pay back the money to you and you are free to lend again or withdraw the money back into your account.

Zef has also created a team on Kiva just for us chip musicians and fans.  Join the team here and help us reach our goal of lending $1000 by the end of summer!  If we spread the word and each of us lends just a little bit, we can easy exceed this goal! Continue reading »

Final exams are just around the corner and TrueStar will be studying hard to make sure she passes all of her classes this semester.  Instead of cancelling the May 10th show, she has enlisted to help of fellow Arecibo Radio host, OverCoat, to host.  Listeners can expect the same great chiptunes they hear ever week on Noise Channel; the only difference is that the host will have a (debatable) sexier voice.

If OverCoat’s voice gets you going or if you enjoy the music from the Touhou series, be sure to tune into Touhou Tuesday on Arecibo Radio.  TrueStar is also an occasional co-host.
